I love love love photographing spring weddings in New Hampshire! It is such an amazing way to start off the season of shooting, and when it’s right in my hometown, it’s even better! Emily and Justin called me to photograph their intimate wedding reception at the Rivermill at Dover Landing here in Dover, NH where I am a preferred vendor. They had already had a small ceremony in the fall, but were hosting 100 of their closest family and friends to celebrate their union, which I think is so smart. The stress of having the ceremony in front of everyone is lifted and they got to just show up for a great party. We walked around the Rivermill, taking our time to do portraits of just the two of them on a gorgeous spring day; we had plenty of time to photograph Emily in her fantastic black dress and killer jewels – and that hair! Justin’s black shirt, purple tie and that sharp suit complemented Emily’s look perfectly.
The venue is nestled in the Washington Mills, home to dozens of local businesses with many artists, musicians, caterers, bakers and restaurants – an eclectic gathering of incredibly talented people, just like Emily and Justin. The backdrop of the rushing Cocheco River along with the history of the mill building all culminated in a very unique vibe! Emily is incredibly talented – she hand painted all the signs and details that you’ll see, and her attention to detail while pulling together a black and purple theme with class and artistic flair is impressive! They included photos of their special relatives, which added to the importance of history, the passing of time, and the focus of the event – to gather in the name of love! The entire affair was unique, classy and fun – just like the Rivermill venue itself. Thank you for checking out their day – ENJOY!
