ON these cold winter days and nights it is so very nice to peek into a summer wedding day! Hmm, where to start with Jenny and Evan… It seems as though I have known sweet, beautiful Jenny forever and ever, and I have known Evan for just as long. He’s grown into quite a handsome and kind man, and I’d say he was just the same in our days at Holderness School and also at UNH. But not only did we attend the same high school, he – and his brother and sisters, and many friends – were students, athletes and/or advisees of my late father. When they contacted me to document this important day for them there was no other answer but “yes!” An emphatic and clear “yes.” We did their engagement session in August 2013 and a year quickly passed as we looked forward to their wedding day in August 2014. In the blink of an eye (and an incredibly long winter here in the Northeast!), August 23rd approached. We began our day right in Portsmouth, NH, where Jenny and Evan own their home. The day was with endless blue skies, and flowers bloomed across the city just for them (I’m pretty sure their talented wedding coordinator Melanie of Blissful Beginnings arranged these too!). The ceremony was held at the gorgeous Moffatt Ladd House in downtown Portsmouth, walking distance from their home (and the guys did walk to the ceremony which was a blast to photograph!). Tears, laughter, a kiss and Jenny and Evan were married! The following hours flew by for Jenny and Evan as they were toasted and sang to in the front garden tent, they ate and drank with their family and close friends, hugged and danced the night away in the carriage house.
