The above image is one of my favorites from my 2014 wedding season! It will don the new business cards that should be arriving on my doorstep any day now. I chose this single image out of thousands and thousands of images to represent the “weddings” portion of my business for many reasons. First, Kat and Garth epitomize the couple I love to work with! They are kind, energetic, chill people who have an incredible love for each other as well as the outdoors. In one of her first communications with me she sent a photo of them with the note, “We went for a mountain jog up near Matier Glacier, Joffre Lakes Provincial Park, BC and ended up doing some unplanned bushwacking through dense brush because we wanted to see if we could run around this lake or not.” Now you won’t catch me going for a jog up a mountain these days (3 kids under 6years old here!), but I sure do love working with people who have that spirit and energy. This is also the perfect image to represent my business because it took place at Loon Mountain in Lincoln, NH. I grew up in Holderness, NH right down 95, where the amazing wedding coordinator, Abby Guinan, also grew up. I absolutely love shooting at Loon not only because Abby and I go way back, but also she and her team are excellent at putting on weddings.
Kat and Garth planned their wedding from across the country, and despite the distance, they threw one hell of a wedding! From the vibrant colors to the custom belt buckles and handmade boutinnieres made from hot bullet casings, from the perfect mountaintop ceremony to the fact that each and every guest was warm and friendly – it was an incredible day. Here are my favorites! And check out their awesome vendors at the end!
