Ashley + Al

The wedding day is a wild and crazy ride of emotions – for everyone – even without factoring in weather! On August 5th we all woke up (here in Southern New Hampshire) acutely aware that the weather forecast said 80% chance of rain…until 3:30. And guess what time we were starting our first look at? 3:30 and guess what time the giant dark rainclouds made way for some sunshine in Derry, NH at Birchwood Vineyards?? 3:30!!!! It was awesome!!! We got our first look and all the portraits done (couple portraits, wedding party AND family – ALL done before the ceremony, a photographer’s dream!), had time to break for a minute and then start the ceremony, all without a hitch. A little later in the evening – before the wildest dance floor on the East Coast on 8/5/17 – we snuck out for a quick sunset portrait with those gorgeous love-and-light clouds floating in the distance, there just in time to reflect the evening light for Ashley & Al!

I should back up a minute first though! Four years ago I photographed Ashley’s brother’s wedding over at the Wentworth by the Sea Country Club (see pics of Ashley and Al from that wedding all the way at the bottom of this post – Ashley was a bridesmaid); flash forward to July 2016 and I was talking excitedly to Ashley and Al about their upcoming wedding day! In the fall we met down in Charlestown to do their engagement session and just happened to pick the exact bar that they met in – to meet up before our session! Ashley and Al have this peppy, sparkly, fresh love between them. They can laugh together, they can tease each other (like the kind me and my husband do after 11 years!), they can comfort one another, and OH can they dance together!!! You’ll see all of this as you look through the wedding day – so much energy and laughter and dancing (and a no so subtle Patriots vs. NY Jets rivalry) – all the things you want your wedding day to be remembered for. It has been an honor Ashley & Al!!!
